We had an amazing time last week at RootsTech 2017. It was a great conference for our official launch out of beta testing. Here are some of the highlights.

Innovator Showdown at RootsTech 2017

Presenting RootsFinder at the Innovator Showdown Semifinals on Wednesday was a fantastic experience. Thanks so much to everyone who was there rooting for us. We really appreciate you! If you weren’t able to join us, we had two minutes to highlight all the innovative features RootsFinder is bringing to genealogy. Short answer: we make family history faster, easier, and more interesting. We talked about how RootsFinder makes family history easy to research, and also easy to share, how you get hints from FamilySearch and Findmypast (and other partners soon!), how it syncs with FamilySearch and lets you control your own tree, and lets you easily share with family. It was a lot to pack into two minutes. We’re so glad we had the opportunity to share with the RootsTech audience!

Elsewhere during the conference, Robert the tree had a great time taking photos with everyone, encouraging them to research and share their family history. He was the life of the party!

Thanks to everyone who stopped by the booth. It was so great to meet everyone and share RootsFinder with you! Many people asked about taking flyers home for their library or local family history center. For those who weren’t able to drop by the booth, or who didn’t get extra flyers, here’s a PDF you can share:

Analyzing and managing evidence

On Friday, we demonstrated how to manage and analyze evidence with RootsFinder on the demo stage. We showed how the timeline event details, web clipper, evidence analysis report, and other features support the Genealogical Proof Standard and help researchers take their tree to the next level. Also, congratulations to Glen Luke for winning a photo mosaic at the presentation!

Thanks again to all of you, and to FamilySearch and the event organizers who made RootsTech possible. We’re already looking forward to next year!
