Unfortunately, due to extenuating circumstances the google for genealogy project has been indefinitely postponed.
Google tries to be comprehensive but the web is immense. They can’t index everything so they limit how many pages they index from each site. That means you’re missing thousands of possible results when you use google to search the web for genealogy.
OurRoots is a new genealogy-specific search engine that will index (almost) all genealogy on the web. It will launch next year.
I’m the author of RootsFinder.com. I’m currently looking for early users and hope you are interested. Everyone who signs up now will receive a free Pro subscription when we launch.

Do you have a launch date yet?
Not yet. I’ll keep people posted on my progress, and will make a beta-release available for feedback as soon as I have something to show.
Wow, sounds great!
I tried to sign up twice, but I’m not receiving the email to confirm. Checked spam, etc., but nothing’s there.
Any ideas why or is there a workaround?
Thanks.
I’m not sure what happened. I confirmed your email. Thanks for signing up!
My mistake – I found it. Victim of too many filters and forwards, I think. It was in Spam after all, just not the one I expected.
Thank you for the response. I look forward to checking out the new project.
How did I miss this? Happy to help
Hi – I enrolled for the Ourroots.com some months ago. Whilst the site still appears to be collecting email addresses the site is for sale? Is it to proceed and if so in what form?
I got side-tracked with another project in 2021 and didn’t make as much progress as I had hoped to unfortunately. I plan to continue working on the project this year.
