Will this allow me to use RootsFinder tree instead of uploading a GEDCOM to FMP?
Yes, you will be able to use RootsFinder.com directly. You can upload a GEDCOM to FMP as well if you like.
Hi Dallan,
I now have my tree on Rootsfinder. I’m thinking about putting it on Findmypast.com is it isn’t there now – unless it automatically went there when I put it on Rootsfinder!!!! if not I might want to put an updated tree on Findmypast. Can you tell me how to do it and if the trees on Findmypast include my notes and pictures on the people in my tree? I’ve never seen a tree on Findmypast to know what they look like.
Thanks,
Bob
As far as I know, RootsFinder trees are not automatically copied to Findmypast. You can create a tree on Findmypast by going to https://www.findmypast.com/family-tree It should include people and notes but not pictures.
That’s great! I just wanted to double check before I added a 2nd tree to Findmypast! As I understand it you will be keeping RootsFinder so we will still be able to go to your site too?
Thanks,
Bob
Yes, that is correct. RootsFinder and Findmypast trees have different functionality.
What happened to the slide show movie creator–tried it 4 times today and preview hangs up as well as complete on videos 1 minute to 2.5 minutes long???? This is why I subscribed to RootsFinder
Thought I would reply here – the slide show movie creator bug was fixed on September 15th.
Do you need to sign into Findmypast to use Rootsfinder ?
Sorry new to this DNA stuff maily looking at that aspect I already have a tree at Ancestry & Family search.org
No, RootsFinder is owned by Findmypast, but it’s a separate website.
